No new wheels for me Well, phooey. Because the mechanic had already ripped half the truck engine apart to find out the problem, Gary conceded to go ahead with the repairs but he did get the price knocked down. This means we dont go shopping for a new car at all, but now wait for the thing to die. This, of course, gives me time to locate the damn title, but I was really looking forward to a newer car in the near future. As it is, the truck will hang on out of spite, just like I think Max is doing in order to make my life annoying by peeing on the carpet right where I always seem to step barefooted. Dont get me wrong. Ill be completely bereft when Max takes the big sleep but since Ive already given him permission to take the big sleep, I dont see why he doesnt take advantage of it, instead of being the leaky cranky pain-filled lump of skin and bones he is. We took away his step-stool to get on the bed because he still couldnt jump up there anyway even with the help, and we were concerned he would leak on our pillows. He can still get up on the couch but I can hear him grunt and wheeze with every attempt, and sometimes he doesnt make it and I can hear him scuttle down the upholstery like Wile E. Coyote trying to climb air after falling off a cliff. Ah well. Soon my raise will go into effect so that we might have a little extra disposable income for when the truck does kick the bucket. Or maybe a great car deal will fall into our laps. Or maybe monkeys will fly out of my butt, who knows? Gary is still reading Harry Potter which gives me more time to play on the computer. Yes! I asked Gary if hed gotten to the part where Dumbledore reveals hes a reincarnated can-can dancer and he just smirked at me. Sometimes hes so logical, and then he comes out with the most goofy-assed thing that makes me do a double if not triple take. And hes wonderful. He noticed that I had the crock-pot out and I forgot to ask him to set up the timer and he did it anyway. Hes so good. Not so good that Im not disappointed about getting a new car this weekend, though. Wah.
