Patience is a virtue but I never said I was virtuous Christmas was quite lovely. I'm happy with the presents I got, and I think Gary was happy too. It's funny how the presents we tend to buy each other benefit us both. The best gift bar none was the electric heating mattress pad. Now we both sleep all toasty. And we each have our own controls to make our side as toasty as we want. Gary actually said he got a good sleep, I said because he was warm for once! And the card Gary gave me got me all misted up. Aw, what a sweet guy. I have Friday off, which will be a treat because I've been working basically full-time lately. I'm planning on going to the new IKEA store and getting my hair done and shopping and just being all girly. I also feel like pricing a kayak because we can get a boating licence here dirt cheap. I want to learn how to flip a kayak and stuff. We can take lessons over at Kiwanis park. It's kind of expensive though. However, I'm waiting for my ESOP distribution and it looks like I may get it soon. I know about how much I'm getting too. I can't blow it all on stuff, I have bills to pay, but I asked Gary if we could have a little getaway for us because we haven't done that for a long time. I even suggested we stay in town but stay overnight at the hotel we had our wedding night at, just to get away for a bit. And it's close to Mill Ave so we can get a nice dinner and see a movie. Or just hole up in the hotel and order room service and watch cable. Hee hee. Gary likes the idea because we haven't done that, and we need to have a little more fun. We've been all boring and frugal lately. We should go out and play miniature golf or go to an arcade or something. Although we did go to the casino for our anniversary and I was winning too, but we had to stop. Phooey. Anyhoo, it seems like the 'rents are coming out in February, which should be good. I'm looking forward to going to Disneyland, too. Especially since we can put Daddy in a wheelchair and get on all the rides first. He just can't walk around too much anymore. I really hope mom mentions his brain fog, etc to his doc in Jan. It's sad to see him so old. I asked him for a penuche recipe and when Mom got home he couldn't remember what I had called about, even though he had found and given me the recipe already! But since Mom couldn't leave it alone, she had to call me to find out what was going on. I had asked for a recipe! Not what blood type or anything like that. But then, given my Mom's need to be on the page for EVERYTHING I shouldn't be surprised. I want to go shopping now. There, I said it. Why should I wait until Friday! Patience, patience. Bite me.
